A Brief History
I have had a passion for art & storytelling for as long as I can remember. As a child I was creative, always drawing & making scenarios with Lego & plastercine. I was awarded the 'A level art achievement prize' two years running at Abbotsfield & Swakley's 6th form. I studied art & design at Central Saint Martins, the first student from my area to receive a scholarship to such an establishment. I then took a film making degree at the University of West London followed by a Masters at Kingston University.
During this time, I was working part time jobs & planning projects outside of the classroom. I joined forces with a friend to help on his passion fashion project, FUTV. Producing, directing, shooting & editing the featurettes helped to hone my skills in a real world environment. From this, I experienced shooting top events such as Clothes Show Live & London Fashion Week. After this I was able to work an internship at Motion Picture House where I edited films for Saatchi & Saatchi, a spy pilot starring Gemma Atkinson & shot a making of on the short film 'Man & Boy' starring Eddie Marsan.
After producing & shooting ‘Dying’ with talented director Richard Wright, I got to do some exciting jobs such as log & capture footage for a Channel 4 documentary & shoot for a Debenhams fashion event. I wanted to produce & shoot my own films. ‘The External Dilemma’ was my 1st independent film, starring talented actor Thomas Brandon. I then produced & made props for the harrowing short ‘Forbidden Thoughts’, continuing an interest in production design & the mechanics of film organization.
I edited ‘Crazy for You’ for the Raindance 48 hour film festival Film & ‘Dicing’ was officially selected by the London Independent Film Festival. I was then hired to shoot ‘Allegorical Beasts’, a series of experimental film poems made up into a ½ an hour featurette. Around this time I was hired by Fulham FC & continued there for 5 years.
I then produced & directed ‘The Watcher’, which won an award of recognition & was selected by three other film festivals. In the same year I produced ‘Fair Play’ which featured in the top 10 of the BFI Short Film Festival. I worked for Cherry Duck on a BHS ad utilising stop motion techniques to create a nationwide viral advert. I got to shoot the Fifa 17 promo while working at West Ham United featuring premier league footballers & celebrities. I also shot for Cheeky Sport for a pre European Cup promo. I got to shoot for ITN capturing red carpet events, notably Annette Benning’s views which were shown on ITV’s main news.
‘Nerdians: Back to the past’ which was released in 2018, won an award for best supporting actor for Connor Jenkin’s outstanding performance as Barty. After working at ITV, archiving content for high profile clients, I worked for Local TV as an Editor for two and a half years.
